I have a 2002 Harley Davidson FXST soft tail SD with only 13,000 miles on it. Yesterday I stopped somewhere and shut the bike off, when I got back on it, started it and pulled off it started makes a noise and **** off, pulled it into the parking lot and started it again and there was a knocking noise coming from what sounded like near the front jug. I shut it off and waited a little bit and tried to start it again but couldnt get it to start, it wanted too but didnt, anyone know what could be the problem? Thanks!

Hi there i-556 my friend. "Forum Issues" are for issues with the forum (website) itself. I moved you to a more appropriate location so you can get better replies.
Also, being new here, feel free to come HERE and introduce yourself to us. Also, in the upper/sticky area are the few HDF rules we have, we are all supposed to read.
Well known issue with the earlier twin cams were cam chain tensioner shoes. They would get old and brittle with age and use. Combined with the crappy spring tensioner to keep them under tension it was a recipe for disaster if not taken care of by one of the few options to remedy it. Lifters and inner cam bearings are also suspect...don't try to start it or run it until some diagnosis is done.
At this point, and with just that information, it would be hard to guess accurately....
It could be several things... and as Screamin beagle mentioned, some of them could be bad.....
As he mentioned, DO NOT START the bike until someone who knows Harleys gives it a good look...
Normally I would say to check fuel, spark and compression.
But if it were my bike, just based on your description, I'd be pulling off the cam chest cover to see what's going on in there... if the problem is in the cam chest, you could be looking at a big ($$$$) repair... no need to aggravate the issue by constantly trying to start it...
Hopefully it's something else, maybe even small like a collapsed lifter, but I'd be protecting myself from making a bad situation into a catastrophic failure at this point...
Report back what you find..
