2017 flstfbs issues

2017 flstfbs issues
So I have a 2017 fatboy s. I seems to have some sort of gremlin with my gear indicator, and as a result my cruise control doesn't work.
i already replaced the neutral safety switch. Harley says it "may" be the vehicle speed sensor. But I am not sure that is the problem either.
Speedo works perfectly and has been GPS verified. Tach works as well. The only two things not working are the gear indicator, and as a result, the cruise.
I should add that sometimes it just randomly starts showing my gear and i can use cruise. Of course this only lasts as long as it feels like it.
Anyone had an issue like this? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. I dont want to throw money are random parts only to find out that it didn't fix the issue.

Electrical glitches are often one of the following:
Bad battery
Bad battery cable connections (to include grounds)
Bad connector (loose, corroded, or bad/bent pin)
Have you checked for codes...?? If there is one, it may point you in the right direction..
Just based on your report of the issue, I would search the schematics to find any connector in the path from the VSS, to the ECM (and/or BCM), to the Speedo.. I would then remove, check, clean, and reassemble those connectors... That would cost you nothing but a little time and a little dielectric grease...
