Default Softail frame replacement

Hello everyone,

Has anyone replaced their 2000-2006 stock softail frame with an aftermarket frame AND possibly still have the oem frame AND want to sell it? I know this is probably a longshot, but might as well ask.

Why would I want to keep an oem frame instead of an aftermarket frame you ask? Because I loved my Harley the way it was before I got hit and it'll cost less to find another that hasn't been wrecked. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that replace their frame for the reason of improving their motorcycle before its wrecked... All I gotta do is find em.

Yeah I've already been on there and most of them have been wrecked, being sold by salvage yards. That's not what I'm looking for, I already own one...

Contact a Harley Dealership and they can order a frame with your vin attached for about $2500.00 or so. Been a while since I ordered one. You will have to return the neck portion of your original frame when you order your new frame. I did this with a 2007 Road King that my stepson got in an accident on and everything worked out great and fit as original. I had the new frame powder coated with a black and silver hammer tone finish and it came out great.

You only other options are Ebay, or a custom frame manufacturer like Pacheco etc.... Here is one from 2001 Harley-Davidson Softail Standard FXST on Ebay:

for 500 Bucks

Sweet, that one looks promising! I wish I would've found that sooner, I could've bought most of my parts from him. Thank you!

Shortly after this post I went to my local harley and inquired about this, they said they don't do that anymore. I'm finally ready to start this project and I'm bouncing between options, but I'm having trouble deciding.

One: replace my frame with a salvaged frame OR TWO: buy a new one built to whatever specs I desire, for double the price. I'm not looking to make this bike show quality by any means, but I've always wanted more rake in my neck. It's already lowered 2-3 inches in the front and rear and I'd love to get this bike back on the road after being hit. I've been profusely looking on ebay for a replacement, but it's so hard to buy a salvaged frame. Especially from some of these sellers that don't answer questions very well. I'd rather not buy a salvaged frame and have to return it...

Thanks

Paughco or Kraftech. They make stock dimension Softail frames or frames with stretched and raked necks.
