Default Front end damage

I have the chance to pick up a 2005 springer soft tail with a bent front fork assembly. Was told the frame was okay, my concern is the steering tube. Anyone have first hand experience with a cracked tube? I’m okay replacing the fork assembly and wheels, just concerned about the tube.

From my insurance experience, Ill bet a ham sammy that the headstock is screwed and the frame is damaged.. If you were my brother, I'd tell ya to walk away unless you have all the jigs, parts and tools, the skill to do this job and you'll have a good possibility of losing your frame number which could be 1 of many potential problems...

In those few pics, it looks like a pretty solid front end impact..... Who told you the frame was OK, and how did they confirm this?

It has the potential to be a big money pit...

Too many nice bikes available without that kind of damage... If you could get it cheap enough and have the time, you might be able to make some $$$ parting it out...

On the other hand, if you have the tools, skills, and experience, for the right price it could be a good project...

^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^^^^^

Either run away or get a price so low you can afford to spend a lot to fix it...

YMMV
