Default steering head bearings

I have a 2002 Harley fatboy, I have put a Frankenstein trike kit on it. There is a bit of wobble to it when I am going, How tight can I adjust the front end bearings? I didn't go with the raked front end but decided to stay with the stock setup. When I looked up the racked bearing install instructions it said to tighten the bearings so the front end will move from side to side easily but tighter than stock. Does any one know if that is the same way for the stock front end? Right now my bearings are set up stock specs.

I have a Sportster converted to a trike with a Frankenstein raked yoke kit. Although there is a torque setting for the neck bearing the final tightness is not a torque but by doing a fall away test. If you have those details I would check fall away and then just go a little tighter. If that doesn't fix your issue then go just a little tighter again.

I put a Voyager trike kit on a 05' 1500 Kawasaki Classic (with no rake added) and it had just a tad bit of wobble if you took one hand off the bars. I just lived with it. Voyager said to leave the steering head bearing alone unless raking the forks. No idea what Frankenstien recommends.

If Frankenstein have raked bearing kits as well as raked triple trees (yokes) then I would expect them to tell you it depends, with some pros and cons of either.

Add a steering damper (if you don’t have one already)

If after doing the usual changing of caster angle, fall away, tyre pressures, suspension setup then I would consider a damper as a last resort. YMMV. The trike I have here only has a small wobble at around 12mph. A little slower or a little faster and there is no wobble at all. You drive through it so fast it is not even noticed.
