Well I just boght a softail deluxe. Only rode it about 200 miles. Driving down the road I cant really tell much difference. It seems to be just a tad stiffer when you hit a bump. Also have noticed that when hauling my girl friend ( I dont know her wieght but dont think she would way a ho lot cause she on the lil side) I may could stffin the shock up some , seems like on a bump it is botteming out or close to it. I drove the rubber mount engine glide and was not that much impreesed with it compared to my old glide. Any way I simply LOVE this bike. The new balanced engine is really smooth for a Harley.[sm=goodidea.gif]
I own a 2004 softail duece and my brother in law has a 2004 dyna wide glide. My duece idles alot smoother, his bike shakes alot at idle. But when you get up too speed his bike rides like a cadillac and mine rides like a regular car. I think the suspensions feel the same but i can feel the engine vibration in mine and not in his. His bike has rubber mounted engine and the softail is just mounted with a metal mount. I dont feel the engine now with aftermarket pipes,I think the stock pipes keep everything too restricted. My suggestion too you is get a softail(they look better) and get aftermarket pipes(vance hines). The dyna rides maybe alittle better but you really have to ride one then the other right away to feel the difference. The difference is not much.
Hope this helps.
David
Hey Cowboy, you can adjust your shock's by turning out to lengthen them. The factory has them pretty soft so two up riding will feel like what you described. I adjusted mine and like the feel much better.
