Another 2 cents worth of advice. I have 2004 Heritage and I installed the fork wind deflectors and they worked wonders. Good luck.
Now I'm curious about those. Did they interfere with the windshield at all? Did you buy HD brand deflectors or something aftermarket? (I'm new here. Is aftermarket stuff frowned upon in HD land?)

Buy what you like, aftermarket or HD. You don't need to justify anything to internet strangers. Many, if not most of us have least some aftermarket stuff on our bikes.

IDK what it is, but as far as Genuine HD vs Aftermarket, I'll take HD all day long. The quality standards in HD chrome, to me is well above average, I purchased a Drag Specialties replacement mirror, it was garbage. JMO. But nothing but HD for me.

Thanks for the reply. I was kinda kidding, but I was wondering if maybe the HD stuff fit better or was higher quality.

I don't doubt your experience. I guess I'll say mine is mixed. I've seen aftermarket items better than HD and vice versa. To me, Drag Specialties and Kuryakyn have been hit or miss. But I still have some of their stuff. Other things like Custom Dynamics I'll take all day long over high priced HD. Hogworkz has done good for me with their hard bag kit for Softail, Uproar tail light and whatever headlight I have from them. Possibly a Halomaker, I can't recall at the moment.
We all go with what our experience tells us.

Absolutely, I pretty much only have HD Chrome but my entire lighting system is all Custom Dynamics, with the exception of the Hogworks LED bulbs for the pass lamps and HL, I'm not a fan of the HL so I'll be looking for new one next year. I was considering going to Joker Machine round mirrors, they're definitely the best round one I've some across so far.

My Hogworkz headlight seems to have a pretty widely scattered high beam that isn't all that great. And this is a whole assembly from them, not an LED bulb in a halogen housing. I don't do a lot of night riding anymore so I've kind of let is slide instead of shopping for something else.
Now THIS is what I'm talkin' about! I was a little unhappy with the helmet buffeting with the smaller shield, so I decided to try the fork-mounted wind protectors. And man, they're awesome! last night and this morning I was happily doing 90-100 mph with zero buffeting. They have completely changed the nature of the ride, from "going fast is kind of a PITA on this thing" to "I could easily do 80-85 for hours on this thing." I'm so excited I'm about to pee my pants. (Not really, but I'm pretty excited.)
Two installation tips: First, they look like thy go on backwards. Trust the L and R stickers. Second, take the windshield off, install the deflectors, then reinstall the windshield. There are just too many things to line up with the windshield in place. It turns a 20-minute job into a two-hour curse-fest.
I am very impressed with Memphis shades, if they say it will fit your particular bike, I would have no worries on it. Excellent to deal with. I wasted months waiting on another windshield companie.
