Default Heritage Classic Modification Questions

I've been eyeballing the FXHC to replace my FXLRS. I'm not seeing as many modification options as I was expecting. My LRS has a mod option for literally every single piece on the bike. If I wanted to modify a HC with mids and bars and seat and whatnot, is that a far more complicated process due to lack of aftermarket support?

Thanks much.

Pic of my LRS because we all like pics -

There are plenty of bar and seat options. Mids might be a little harder due to the Heritage being considered more "touring" than the rest of the Softail line. You can get a peg mount from Harley to get rid of the floorboards. They'll still be a little further forward than your standard mids but better than the floorboards.

I found a mid conversion kit from Performance Machine for the Road Glide. $1300 price tag was a bit shocking....

Why would one want to get rid of the floorboards on a Heritage?

My overall question would be what’s the point in changing to a different bike if you’re going to more or less make it into the old bike that you just had. Heritages generally are the touring equivalent in the softail class. For most people, “upgrades” on them are geared more towards comfort than performance. It’s a hair more stretched and relaxed. Outside of that, most of the focuses are on styling such as stretching fenders or adding larger wheels. If a more aggressive bike is needed, if stay with that or have two bikes for different purposes.

The bike I have blew its motor at 6200 miles and once replaced by Harley is now throwing code after code and sliding into electrical gremlin territory. I enjoy Harleys, I'd like to give another model a shot before writing off the brand as POS. I'm assuming I simply got one of the 'troubled children' and my ownership experience will be better with another.

I enjoy modifying and riding motorcycles in a direction not often considered the bikes main purpose. Performance baggers for example.

I'm also cross shopping a Road Glide and a FXLRST. But not sure I have the brand confidence yet to drop $30K on a RG.

The easiest answer is because the dude wants to. I've always hated this **** here. What does it matter to you or anyone else why he wants to do these modifications to his bike?

Anytime I post on this forum its 30-40% more or less helpful. 60-70% having to defend or explain myself and my question.

what does it matter that I’m asking a simple question? This is a forum set up to foster conversation and by that offer opinions. Asking my question helps me better clarify his direction and then allows me to more accurately formulate a response.
