Do you find yourself more willing to help a fellow HD rider? Almost all metric riders wave to me when out on the road and I would be just as willing to help out another rider (period) regardless of what they ride.... how do you feel about this?
I'd help someone on the road with a Vespa scooter or even a cage. It's actually against the law in rural Texas to not lend assistance to anybody stranded out here. I lost power on my chopper on the way to a run on a major highway a few years ago and watched as group after group of $20-30K scooters wizzed by without a glance. A biker on the way in an old beater Suburban stopped, then a couple of guys on older bikes. We troubleshot, bad batt. The guy drove me 30mi back to my house to pick up another battery I had, drove me back, we installed it and got the bike running. He escorted me to the run. Turns out he was pres of one of the local clubs. We partied together and my bike took 1st custom at the Easyriders sponsored show. Sure made for a good feel for all. Never pass a stranded person without a dam good reason.
I will stop for any bike that is on the side of the road - not just Harleys. Flame me if you want, but I think the Harley "brotherhood" has become very watered down over the years. Back in the day, owning and riding them was not as easy as it is today - the modern technology, every yuppie and their brother having one, etc. Maybe I am just feeling my age, but owning and riding the older stuff took a lot more effort and "want to" than it does now so not everybody had them and it was little more special, I think...at least a little more unique. Just my $.02.
I have and would always stop to see if a stranded rider needs help no matter what kind of a bike they are on. Anyone who rides a motorcycle needs to look out for everyone else thatrides, regardless of the name on the gas tank. However you would never catch me dead on anything else other than a HD!

Pork
Not at all . I find no better way to get that nice warm toasty feeling of good will then to pull up on my chopper and offer a broken down Gold Wing a helping hand. The funny thing is most of the time they say they will try to figure it out them selfs, while they are standing their scratching their heads with a very lost look on their face's.
I'll stop to help any biker....but prefer to help the young ladies whether on a bike or in a cage. I hope the next Goldwing coming up behind me will stop if I ever need help.
