My experience with them, the cheapo amazon lights throw light in a very uneven beam on the road with dim and bright areas. Buy once and cry once with a JW Speaker light. Had them on 3 separate bikes and might replace my Daymaker with one.
I wouldn't cheapen out on something that helps you see and be seen on the road.
Yes, just get a JW Speaker headlight, and be done with it.
Bought a Custom Dynamics Adaptive 2 and am very happy. Slightly different circuits than the JW Speaker brand, but made by the same company. And lifetime LED warranty.
I was not impressed with the Harley LED Daymaker that came on my 2019 FLHTP.
I guess they're like DNA wheels, some have good luck with them, while others do not. I take what my Indy says pretty serious and haven't been disappointed yet, with the exception of Rivco headlight bulb on the high beam. But he's installed the Hog stuff and hasn't been very impressed. So I guess I don't have any personal experience, but I have heard several horror stories about other products for others, in here and out on the road.
As I stated in my first post, the high beam is less than desirable in my opinion on the Hogworkz Halomaker I have. Widely scattered but not that intense far out in front of you like a high beam should be.
I don't think the halo make a lot of difference for night riding but maybe adds a little extra visibility to you for daytime.
