Make sure:
1. The flange is not bent
2. The screw / flange is tight
3. The slot is not narrowed

I have found that you have to push the door tightly against the toolbox for it to lock. Post back if you had success.

The flange is not bent and The screw / flange is tight

i pushed the door as hard as i could and no good.

3. The slot is not narrowed?????

i had this box powder coated and thats the only explanation as it does "narrow" the slot, and the lock mechanism doesnt go in as far as if it wasmt coated. i might try to shim the "flange out a little and see if that helps.

Can you lock and unlock it with the door opened? if so you need find were its binding up on the box, its possible you may have to shave some of the powder coat off.

I'd leave the powder coat alone and shave the flange.

i took the flange off and realised it fits over a square dealio, so a shim wasnt gonna be easy.

It doesn't get more simple than that. Glad you got it fixed.
