Default Night Train

My wife and I just purchased an 07 Nightster back in June. We are running into the problem of her wanting to ride with me and the guys. Thats not a problem when I go back to Ohio and I can steal dads for a few hours, but she is sad when I leave her behind. A friend of mine wants to sell his 05 Night Train with 5100 on the clock. It has V & H exhaust, SE A/Cand a tune. It is a Fuelie. He is asking 12000 for it. Is that a good deal? Seems like people on Ebay are asking anywhere from 11500-15000 for nightrains of all ages. Not sure of anything else I would want. I like our Nightster, but I would like to do some cross country trips. Not that the night train is a cross country bike, but far more than the sporty!

i would say that is a very solid price. the fact that you know the seller and know the history of the bike is priceless as well.

If you can afford it, jump all over it, you won't be sorry.
A Nightster is a neat little "scooter" but an NT is going to feel like a horse of a different color.
Its neither faster or better handeling thatn the Sporty, but with the right seat, similar to the one on the07 Custom its going to be a sweet ride to take the Mrs. along on.
Unfortunatly you can't just get a take off seat from an 07 Custom as the 05 NT still had the older narrower rear tire and fender. But if your ambitious and have some spare change there's no reaon you couldn't "fix" that.

I have 16250 into an 07 model that had 5 miles on it. That includes a 550.00 wheel upgrade, rush slip ons, and 6% sales tax.

5,ooo on that bike is nothing, and 12k for a nice, well taken care of bike is a decent deal...

Seat and bars are the first things I did to my 07 train.

That's a good price.Low miles, known history, a seat change will drastically change your riding distance. The rear tire won't affect anything but appearance.Contrary to popular opinion, a 150 tire is wide enough to ride on.

If you think you are going to do a lot of two up riding, you might consider something with a little more passenger comfort. Or, keep the Nightster and have your wife ride it and you ride the Night Train.
