Default softail slim frame - difference around fender struts?

Hi,
I am looking at putting a sprung solo on my 2016 softail slim. There are quite a few manufacturers to choose, however I like the ones at Blue Collar bobbers - https://bluecollarbobbers.com/shop/1...it-for-fatboy/
Thing is, their seat mount is for stock softail/fatboy arrangment. I was under the impression that the stock softail and softail slim use exactly the same frame, but on closer inspection, the rear fender strut bolt holes (first two) are four inches apart, were as on stock, they are two inches apart. There looks to be a piece coming up from the exhaust mounts along the upright of the frame and then welded on to the frame (if that makes sense). I am assuming this is to allow the 'slim' to have a lower mounted seating arrangement? I've googled around but all the responses are the differences between stock softail and the slim (as in features) - but nothing that I could find with actually talks about the frame (and I guess swing arm) itself.
Hoping someone that know can help me out please?

have you taken it apart yet? typically, Harley does have slightly different location and struts for different bikes, BUT the holes necessary will be in the frame.

pull a strut and take a peak to see, dont jut use pics of other bikes.

Your question made me curious so I did some checking... This is for 2016 Softails, per the online parts finder...

The Slim (FLS 1JRV), Slim S (FLSS 1JS9), and FatBoy (FLSTF 1BXV) all use the same frame #47173-11BHP, and rear fork #47573-11BHP.

The FatBoy Lo (FLSTFB 1JNV) and FatBoy S (FLSTFBS 1JT9) use the same frame number and rear fork number, but with a different suffix #47173-11BYM, & #47573-11BYM.

The difference between the two models is in the rear fender supports/brackets ....

The Slim models use a single fender support that bolts onto each side of the frame. The rear fender is then bolted to this support.

The FatBoy models use both a smaller fender support and a longer "support" assembly" which is like a cover extending the support, that bolts to each side of the frame... The rear fender is then bolted to these two pieces.

So, if you want to use a seat assembly for a 2016 FatBoy on your 2016 Slim, you need to figure out how the components attach and/or mate up with the frame, fender, and the fender supports.

That will determine if the kits would be interchangeable, need some modifications, or flat out won't work...

Good luck with your mod...
