So as i go to pull away a vibration comes up sometimes and is quite severe and it just stops. Feels like its coming from the front. Another time its perfectly fine. The brakes are fine and not stuck on. I am wondering if with dual controls i am not always in a low gear when pulling away. I cant get used to heeling down through the gears but if its set up that way then pressing down on the front pedal may not be changing down. Sorry, it sounds like a simple question but not come across this before mind you never had dual controls before.
Any help much appreciated...
You use your heel to push down on the rear lever and that puts you up into the next higher gear. Use your toe to push down on the front lever and that puts you in the next lower gear. Sounds like maybe you're not in first gear when you take off sometimes
God how dumb am i . I have only ridden it from the store to home about 10 miles. What a doughnut....Well it can only be up on here from this post...
We all have to learn about things we have no experience with or prior knowledge about....
Everyone has a similar story or two involving something they just bought and had no prior knowledge of it.... If we are lucky, we figure it out, but not always without a little help...
Of course, I'm not going to share my stories....
But there are more than a couple over the years....
I can hear a new thread looming. What did you do that made you look like an idiot over the years.....I wonder how many would contribute ?
Lol. Well I'll tell you this.....I rarely if ever use my heel shifter, never had one before so I'm just use to the toe shift. If the GF and I are going to dinner an lil dressed up I'll use it then, only
so I don't scuff up my shoes
Ive driven tons of varied models of heel shift bikes and by far the stupidest and most intrusive design is the softail HD. The best functioning heel shifters are designed to run under the floorboard and the heel contact pad is at the rear . Just slide your foot rearward and heel bump the pad. Me personally after 40 years of traditional shifting just dont like a heel shift. To each his own.
