Hey guys , so I got a rebuilt 89" ran all last summer great. Changed oil recently along with rebuilding my mikuni, and ironically I'm getting super crazy vibration at higher rpms now . Was wondering if anyone had any direction on where to look . Thank you
Vibration in grips or footpegs or everywhere? Does it pick up at high revs regardless of gear? Or is it related to your speed? I guess I would start by checking your motor and gearbox mounting bolts. Also, with your bike I would suggest posting in the EVO section, lots of smart guys over there that know EVOs inside out.
Oh wow Im new on here and didn't even know there was an Evo section . Will do thanks . But more or less I feel it in the seat and it's distorting my vision . This has never happened before . But also hearing it rattle kind of by the headlight and the mirror is impossible to look through at higher rpm. This is all new from riding it all last year when I put my rebuilt motor in April 2022. I almost thought it was the wheel or something at first , but when u switch gears , it all goes away until I'm guessing I'm around 4000 rpm
Edit: I can't seem to find the Evo section

So related to engine rpm... check all motor mounts for sure. When you did the oil change I wonder if you disturbed anything like maybe had the seat off and it's not reinstalled correctly?
To find the EVO section, select 'Harley Davidson Motorcycles', then 'Classic' and then you should be able to pick 'EVO'. It's a bit disturbing to see EVO's in with the pans and shovels but I suppose I'm getting old.
Seat was never off. I did use a purging puck connected to the oil filter just to purge all the old oil out , but I had my oil tank filled with oil while purging out the old oil and topped off with more new oil. Can't imagine that did anything it shouldn't have ? But in neutral in the garage , I raise the engine rpm and my sissy bar is vibrating like crazy also . Will try and find the Evo section also . Thanks for any pointers

it was running well, you did an oil changeand rebuilt the carb, now it's not running well....
I'd start with double checking my work on the carb....
In my 40 year experience of working on cars, bikes, boats.... If a problem arises after I did some work on a car, bike, boat.... The problem was almost always something I touched, moved, bumped, or handled when I performed that work...
You guys are awesome . Not sure how I over looked the one bolt going into the head but it was hanging halfway out , and the two piece heavy duty mount that I have it was also loose where the two pieces are matched together with a bolt and thread locking nut . Can't thank you guys enough for looking after my post and problem .
