Default Replacing solo seat with a Springer seat

Anyone try out or have any luck with this seat from Motherroad Customs? Interested in replacing my Saddleman solo with a springer style seat and am looking for recommendations and thoughts. This is on a 2015 Slim. Thank you in advance.

Looks to me like the 'mount kit' is sourced from Mid-USA....

https://www.mid-usa.com/27949-solo-s...orsion-springs

Would you be able to piece-together your own seat/mount cheaper? Maybe, maybe not...

good luck,

T.

Can't say I've tried them, but my bike had one from factory so didn't have a need

Will say the seat pan in the link you have is nice. Stock from Harley on mine is plastic. Also keep in mind you'll sit higher on your bike with a spring seat as opposed to a regular solo seat. Just little things like that to take into account when it comes to your ride comfort.

Would you say the spring seat is more, less or the same comfort as a standard solo? Not looking to compare all brands, just overall comfort.

I had a Mother road on my Indian and was very happy with it.

I’m getting ready to put one on my RK but am having to fab a piece to mount my -25 H-D seat since the Mother Road frame cover is not wide enough to locate the springs to it.
I’m thinking their setup is made to only work with the narrower aftermarket chopper style seats.

Only comfort issue I've got with my seat is the lack of back support. But I'm also a big guy. On the longer haul trips I find the minor discomfort I get where I'm thinking about getting off and stretching for a few minutes, coincides nicely with when I've got to stop and fill the gas tank.

Spring seat being what it is, adding the mini-apes and the lack of windscreen on my bike, I just always seem to be flexing forward on the long rides. Can't lean back in one of those seats so to take pressure off I kind of lean back and put the pressure in the hands, holding the handlebars. Hands start to get tired so you lean up a little more using your stomach and upper leg muscles to take the pressure off the hands and shoulders. Those get tired after awhile so lean back and put the weight into the hands again.

For short trips at local road or regular highway speed no big deal. But those 400+ mile Long trips doing 75mph or more for long stretches, that wears on ya a little.

But if you don't have mini apes and aren't as big a guy where the wind is gonna want to push you off the back of the bike all the time, probably a lot more comfortable than I am
