Hello.. on my 1998 heritage softail classic..My tank is only drawing gas from left side of tank. I've only had this bike for a couple months as it was sitting about 2 years..I got it running and rode it couple times but noticing the right side tank stays full of gas... Any help would be appreciated
I'll check. If so I'll take it off and see if it's plugged
I wasn't sure how the fuel system works on this bike since it's carbureted..I figured just gravity feed
Thanks for reply

Be ready for some spillage if you have plenty of gas in there.
Not often a lot but enough to try and avoid
Ok.I took off hose at left side crimp.Plugged the nipple but it was just barely coming out from right side..I blew little compressed air towards right side and it flowed like crazy.Im sure there is some crap in right tank so I'm going to try and get it out..
thanks for the help and advice👍
FYI.... early Harleys had a fuel tank liner. It gets old, starts to peel, and leaves "chunks" floating around in the gas. Those chunks can block the fuel hose and/or the petcock screen.
It's a pain to fix, but doable.
It's just something to be aware of as you check out your tank.
Well then I guess it's time to take off tank and fix it..I didn't know they had a liner in them. Thanks for the info.
I'll keep you updated
You can usually tell if the liner is peeling with the tank still on the bike. Just shine a flashlight into the tank and shake the bike. You will see a bunch of floating "chips" of different sizes in the fuel.
Your issue could be just some dirt or a delaminating hose temporarily blocking the crossover hose....
FWIW.... My 2000 Springer had the tank liner peel. I just cleaned out the old liner the best I could, and then left it bare metal. I read many reports of even the top rated liners, peeling soon after the tank was recoated. Most tanks are just bare metal now.
That was five years ago and I haven't had an issue since...
Good luck and hopefully your issue is just a bad hose or other minor debris...
