This is exactly why I decided to change all the fluids!!!
Looks like he mixed brake fluid types......??
I am always amazed at how people treat and/or what they do to their motorcycles. For that reason, I only bought new Harleys from 1978 until my first used Harley in 2017. Even so, I'm really picky and give a used bike a serious inspection. I have walked away from numerous bikes advertised to be in "excellent" condition..
Looking at the drained fluid I think there is the black stuff that I assume is the wrong fluid and clear drops of what I think is water. I'll flush through the system before I re-fit everything.
....you have done an excellent job!!
Great to know that there are people that take care of their stuff when it
shows in the pictures because the bike means a lot to them.
I've regretted selling my mint 1990 ZX7 since the day I did it. If I had the opportunity to but it back I would in a heartbeat.
Good luck with YOUR bike OP. Its great you found it again.
I regretted trading in my pristine 900RR for an Iron 883, it was my last rocket before going to HD . I traded it out of state (side note: 2 weeks later someone bought it with their girlfriends name and used to to rob a bank!) and 5 years later it came of for sale at a car lot in my town. The stars aligned just right and was fate telling me to make it mine again, but when I test rode it those five years were really hard on her and was a shadow of its former self. Had been dropped a few times and so many things internally and externally were half assed. I've seen it around town a few times and it's even worse now. Sad really.
