97 Springer switch to progressive 422s?
I have a 97 Springer with 2400 original miles on it. How much of a difference would progressive 422s make on the bike? Would I notice a difference even though the OEM shocks have such littles miles on them?
Thanks
Thanks
What's your end game, goals, solo riding, bar hopping, 2UP, 2UP Touring? If you're just scooting round town what you have is fine, most of the guys here jump to the 422 RAPS because we tour on our bikes.
Because it seems you don’t ride very much . I would suggest try making some adjustments to your stock shocks . To see if that’s all you really need. Or maybe a new seat with some good padding.
Okay I'll try the adjustments on the stock shocks first thanks
End goal is both solo riding, cruising on nice days (no touring) and 2up for local runs.
Which ones do you have the 422 standards or heavy duty ones? Ok thanks let me know regardless of what I decide to do.
Well I just got it last month and I want to try and get some road time on her. She's been sitting for the past 10 years so I've been doing a lot of maintenance going over the bike Just doing bits and pieces seeing what I can change or upgrade while I'm doing maintenance.

Hopefully, new tires are the first thing you did, if she's been sitting for 10 years that's a need too maintenance. The RAPs are going to give you more tunability, especially if you're going back and forth between 2UP and solo. If you decide to go with the 422's spend the extra for the RAPS, adjustments can be made without climbing under the bike. Hit the search tab, load in Progressive 422's. A lot of us run them, and love them.

Well, you picked a great set of tires. Bike looks really clean. I don't know your budget, but you're definitely heading in the right direction.
I'm bit of chrome *****, but I don't mind a couple IPA's and my polishing tools, spending some time just hitting the lil nooks and cranny's.
So maybe some bling, the attention to detail is in the smallest trinkets.
My Heritage sat for a couple years, so I did exactly what you've done so far. I rode her for a season or two, added some chrome goodies,
taller bars, V&H Exhaust and a Ness AC.
I then I realized I wanted a bike to from stripped down to full tour. So I started with the 422 RAPs and Monotubes, that transformed the bike into
anything I wanted her to do. I was pleased with my suspension upgrade.
Fast forward a year or so of touring, I wanted a lil more umph down low. So did a full Feuling kit with cams. After the Dyno tune , needless to say'
extremely happy.
Feuling Parts
Now as time goes on, I'm considering going to 95" kit and giving her a lil more.
Just take your time, think thru your needs and wants, if you go off the deep end and start adding this and that, then you're going to be throwing money
away....ask me how I know.
Most of all, enjoy it.
