For $11 it might be worth a try. It's just a lock, though. It may work for me since I would only use it now and then.
It has a limited throw, so it will probably leave the throttle a little draggy when it's released. Nothing's perfect but there is no cheap way to put a cruise control on my bike.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
I had a cheap throttle lock lever on a previous bike and it worked ok. Was able to rest my throttle hand enough to get the feeling back. It did not do a great job of keeping a constant speed so I only used it when i needed a quick hand break.
I was informed that there is a product that works as a cruz control a "Throttle tender". Is this product worth looking into?
Would help to know what bike we are talking about but check the Brakeaway products. Put one on my wife’s vstar and sons shadow. They work very well and are not bulky and intrusive.
I have this one and like it a lot. I don't run the highway really at all, but if I'm out on the country roads I'll lock it and lean back into the GF for a few miles. It holds the speed well too. I don't have carpel tunnel, I had the surgery done around 2008, I've never had a problem again. But this will definitely work for the guys that their throttle hand goes numb after a while. Harley with throttle cables (mycruisemate.com)
I second the CruiseMate! I installed last year on my 03 Fatboy and love it. I don't use it all the time but whenever I do it works like a charm
Small American company, American made, now has the product and it was invented and brought to market by a cool (local to me) guy,.... great story, great product..
On my non-cruise control bikes, I just tighten the adjusting screw thumb wheel....
I don't use it a lot, but it works to give me an occasional, short break on longer rides....
Yeah, for sure ... and for people who use or want to try to use OE "lock", I recommend tighting it "just enough" to keep the throttle from returning on it's own but easily manually overridden when needed (for minor or "major" adjustments)
