Default Horn issues

The horn on my 08 heritage is on all the time, when wires are connected, I have disassembled the horn switch and I can’t see how it would be the problem, sometimes you can reconnect it and it works then 30 seconds later it continuously blows, any ideas?

Adam, welcome. I believe the horn switch has a relay in your fuse box. Probably sticking shut when you hit the small micro switch on the handle bar.

Just as a suggestion, make your next new post over in the new member welcome area to say hello.

There is no relay, just a switch.

Pull the sheathing back at the switch and make sure the Orange/White and the Yellow/Black wires are not chafed and contacting each other, if the wiring is good, replace the switch.

Any electrical/wiring upgrades on your bike that caused the issue? Did this occur after a bar/cable/switch upgrade, by chance?

Year and model will certainly help the diagnosis. That said, simple enough to check for current exiting the switch when you're not touching it.

Disconnect the horn wires at the horn.
Consider creating a simple incandescent test light and connect it to horn wires.
An old brake bulb works fine.
With ignition ON, but engine OFF
Turn handlebars left and right, use a rubber hammer and tap hard parts of bike, create vibration.
Basically trying to find location of possible wire problem.
The horn has two wires.
A ground (-) and a then one positive wire that is switch controlled.
From a distance it reads like either the switch is bad, the wires that exit the switch clamp are pinched or somehow the positive wire from switch is being energized by a break or connector fault.
If wires to bars are internally run (inside the bars) in order to give the bike a clean custom look then it is highly likely that concern is located closer to bar clamp where the wires exit.

Somewhere between the horn and the horn switch, the Yellow/Black wire is coming in contact with the Orange/White wire.

Or the switch is kaput...
