Default steering head grease

Jusy wondering how much grease to put in the steering head. Had heard some saying you could almost pump in half a tube. I have a 99 heriage softail classic any input would be helpful I usually only pump in 2 or 3 pumps or until i see it come out when i grease my car.

Thanks

I wouldn't overdo it. The idiot dealer where I bought my '02 Fat Boy brand new did that. As soon as we got a nice hot day the grease ran out and splattered all over at highway speeds. Needless to say they got a very nasty write up when H-D mailed me a survey to complete.

2 pumps should do it if you are doing it at service intervals.......otherwise it goes everywhere especially a nice drip on the front fender
