I have an fxlrst 2022 131 se kit install. Have done 600 (full syn) miles since harley did the oil change after break in. I now pull the dipstick after harley did the oil change after break in and its dry. Book says cold check mid point on stand. And also did a hot check at 200f it still remains dry. The floor is in my buddies shop the bike sat two days and the floor is perfectly flat on concrete. I'm lost as harley said i over filled last time i mentioned this even though directions state mid point cold. What do i do?
Something is not right and the dealer just told me top it off for now. 600 miles seems excessive even though tsb is saying 1qt every 1500 which also seems excessive. What are you guys experiencing and what do you think i should do? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Did you happen to check right after they serviced it? It would not be beyond the realm of possibility that they never put in the right amount after the service. Fill it to the correct level and monitor it.If you have to keep adding, document what you did and when, so if you have to bring it back, you can show a pattern of consumption.
Only checked after a long ride. I rode the bike home then did a 500 mile trip.
If the stick was dry when you checked after 500 miles ,and by chance it was actually full when you got it, you would have been leaving a nice little trail of blue smoke while you rode it. I will assume it seemed to run ok? As in it didn't feel like you had to push it hard to make it move, or it ran extremely hot . These are a couple of symptoms of sumping, which it probably wasn't. Also, prior to getting the service done, did you ever see the stick dry?

No blue smoke, power is nice and goes when it needs too. It can run hot especially if caught in traffic. I think it hit 350f once before we started to move. I know these things do run hot. Yes the stick was dry when it was a factory 117, but usually after 1000 miles and not quite as bad it needed .75 quarts added. Now i smell something on cold start only for a moment (like oil just not sure) its fine running.

Personally, I would monitor it and make sure however you are checking the oil that do it the same way each time .
