Has anyone ever had one of these go loose on their FXFBS motorcycles. Should the earlier part be replaced with 18400073B as my bike is a 2018 model. Any input much appreciated.

Just a big FYI.....
When there is a suffix letter after a part number, it usually means that part is basically the same, with the same fitments, as the earlier part...
The suffix letter can mean there was a change in vendor, the part was updated, and/ or the previous part had an issue that was fixed....
Some will argue it can also mean that the MoCo cheapened the part for profit reasons. While I'm not naive enough to argue against that, in my history with HD (back to '78) it usually means a better and/or improved part..
I have only seen a couple cases where the same part number, with a different letter suffix, was not backwards compatible with earlier parts having the same part number.
