Speedometer was working just fine week ago, when I went on holidays and left bike in garage. Today, I noticed, that speedometer is not working, turning on/off time to time, engine light comes on/off. Any suggestions?
If your engine light is going on & off, you should have codes. It's not easy on older Twin Cams to read the ICM/ECM diagnostic codes, but if you know how, check for them.
I don't remember a DTC for the VSS on early Twin Cams.
So the code should be from something else...
However, it wouldn't hurt to check your VSS (vehicle speed sensor) anyways, since your issue is one of the symptoms of a failing VSS.....
