for my 2010 fat boy. bodies to shot to bend over and use a pad and i pretty much have to use the floorboards to mount and would like some extra stability. even a wide pad kick stand. thanks for any help
I have one of those plastic kickstand pucks, drilled a hole in it..........attached a 3 foot wire to it.........on the other end is a loop with a little carabiner attached.
I have the whole setup in my windshield bag
I attach the carabiner to the clutch cable....
I can easily maneuver the puck under the JIFFY STAND with my foot....
and when done.... lift the bike and pull up the puck on the wire and put it back in the bag.
NEVER bending down.......
I wouldn't worry about it. I go to a lot of rallies and consequently end up parking on every surface imaginable including dirt, grass, sand, mud, gravel, etc. and I've never even come close to having the jiffy stand sink into the surface enough to cause any concern. If it was muddy enough that the stand couldn't hold the bike up it would be too muddy to even get the bike in and out of that location in the first place.
Google "permanent kickstand pad" and you'll see several options. Either that, or mount from the RH side which takes weight off the stand.
Be aware that what ever you permanently mount will alter the lean angle when parked and could make it tough to lower the stand on uneven surfaces. You might need a shorter stand.
