Don’t know if this is the right place, but I need a part number for a 1998 Softail battery.
The harley part number for your battery is #65989-97E. It is a 17.5AH sealed battery for $164.95. I believe it is also rated at 310CCA.
You can get better batteries for a better price, and much less expensive batteries about the same quality as OEM. You would be looking for a size "20HL" or "20L" battery. That size fits all Softail models from 1991-2021
My favorite, high quality, long lasting battery is the Yuasa GYZ series AGM batteries. You can get them for about the same, and even cheaper than the HD battery. The Yuasa GYZ20HL is currently selling on Amazon for $133.97. If you have Amazon Prime free shipping, it's a deal... I have them in all four of my HD bikes...
But again, any size "20HL" or "20L" battery that fits a Harley will do. You need the POSITIVE terminal post to be on the primary cover side of the bike, and on the forward end of the battery.
