Hi everyone,
my stock upper clutch cable failed, red clip broke and a new one wouldn't hold adjustment. Clutch was working fine. I installed the Fat baggers ez adjuster and lower tube and now it dlams into first gear as if the clutch wasn't fully disengage. I have tried adjusting the clutch basket atbthe primary to no avail. Please help.
You got me curious, so I just went and installed one in my 22 Heritage that I've had on the shelf forever. I have no issues. Did you adjust the clutch inside the primary?
Ive installed two of those on two late model M-8 touring bikes. I dont think I even bothered adjusting the clutches on either, because both bikes were so new at the time of installation.
If the only thing you changed is the cable adjuster, I think that is where your issue is, and Im guessing it just needs more adjusting. Get a factory service manual if you dont already have one.
Update,
I called FB tech support and they advised to redo the primary clutch adjustment. Keep an eye on the ferrule, it must be pushed all the way down on the lower clutch cable after backing out the adjustment bolt 3-4 turns. Worked like a charm.
