1991 FXSTS Pinion Gear Nightmare
Good morning one and all, I trust you're well.
So I'm having an issue getting right with selecting and finding the correct pinion gear for my 1991 FXSTS. After a lot of research and learning a few new things I am coming up blank with what I'm looking for.
The main issue it seems is that the 90-92 softail was a "crossover" period between the earlier 89's that had a tapered shaft with a recessed gear for the nut, to the 93's and later that have no taper on the shaft
and no recess in the gear.
I cant find anywhere that has the pinion gear I need. What I'm wondering is, am I missing anything thechnically? If I cant find the OEM part #24043-90, what other options do you think I might have?
