How to route console cable?
After many years of being a Sport bike, Liter bike rider - The badge is, that you didn't go down. Don't have that badge myself, but still here, so that is worth something.
Liter sport bikes having 175+ HP and weighing in at around 175 lbs - You BETTER respect that, and never think you are better than the bike...
I learned to respect every bike I am on - the minute you don't,,,,,you may be down, or you may be dead.
Most shops i know of do great work. Still there aren't many shops who will put as much care into a bike as an owner would. So, to me, its worth the investment in manuals, tools and time. There is also something especially satisfying about operating equipment that one thoroughly understands. In fact, I feel this is actually part of Harley's roots and almost a pre req to truly appreciate them.
Mine has three bundles. Three go on one side of that center fastner. The biggest is slightly snug but console bottoms. The other vent hose to the other side of fastner. The vent hose is free.
It's obvious which ever side they go down the frame is the side they stay on.
It possible to spin console with it up to confuse the issue. I protected the tank with heavy towels. Still be nice to have 4 hands.
I used black plastic electric tape to keep those two spacer gasket on each side of the console. I see I left a piece too far out.
When mine snugs, the lines are still free to be push back in or pull out a tad which I did until just before screw snugs. My screw is a Allen head cap screw now.
Black tie wraps bundles them.
Mine is original factory. When I got the bike, the vent hose wasn't attached from the factory.
Your model appears to have less. Appears it's on wrong side and most should go back under console. You can see that bundle is chaffed were my guess it used to be coming just thru.
It really shouldn't be rubbing.. not like steering affects that part...maybe just not setup too well at the factory and should have been couple bundles.

Rode it home recently, after getting it running where it sat for 10 years or so. Ran strong but toward the end (50 miles) got a lean surge. More work to do. I'd like to improve the braking a bit. Will start with EBC HH pads. The external fuel line is seeming to have issues engaging the check valve and flowing fuel. Will replace that line too. Could not find a new external line for the deuce. Pulled the fittings out of a new one for the standard's tank. Will custom build a new line (longer for the deuce).
