Steve,
I have a Heritage similar to yours. Personally, I think windshields are for cages since I avoid the Interstate like the plague, but on the off chance I might have to get on one, I had a local glass shop cut mine down 7". I hate looking through it and don't even want to see the edge.
Look in the yellow pages for glass shop or follow th instructions on the link Bill posted. It's easy if you have a jig saw.

If you don't mind spending a few dollars you can do what I did: Go to Cee Bailey's web site and order a replacement shield (I'm 5'10" and ordered minus 2" height and 1" wider than stock, in clear). What you will get is an amazing piece of work -- flawless optics and literally twice the thickness of the stock shield, which means no flexing or fluttering in any wind conditions. I think I paid about $105, and it was well worth the price. All you need to do is take the hardware off the stock shield and put it on the replacement shield -- about 10 minutes all in all.
Thanks for the advice... I just may order one... one problem, how in the heck can a guy know what size would be right ? Like said though. as it stands,i kinda like mine off.... But some days i like it on . This is really the only thing that i do not like about my Heritage.. I just nevernever been a fan of windshields.. Thanks again !!!
