Snoop, that bikes looks much better than the Fatboy you were looking at. I dig those wheels also. Thought about getting some for my Fatboy. Have fun with the new toy.

Yeah, and the dollar amount was so close there really was no question. I did find a superglide in the same area, that is a really solid buy. Guy is 81, and a great dude, we talked for hours. If anyone in the area is in the market.
OK snoop... fess up. You've been sitting on that gorgeous bike making VROOM noises, haven't you? We've all done it. It's OK. Just don't let the neighbors see you do it.

Lol, I'll admit to trying to wipe the chrome off, the fifth on anything else, lol. The previous owner admitted to going out in the shop during winter and firing it up, and having a few beers, and since he lives about 2 miles away, I extended the same offer, if he gets lonely for it. I rode it around the field for a little bit the first night, then took it around the rural section lines. Got it tagged and insured yesterday, went to a yard sale(in my pickup). Guy had a bunch of seats, pegs etc, Got a nice helmet and some chaps with liners for 20 bucks! Met another dude and bought a nice jacket, worn once for a hundred! Rode about an hour just before dark yesterday evening down the highway. I definitely have to move the hiway pegs, but I'm going to take it to the saturday morning bs session at the hotrod shop, and maybe a little this evening.
Congratulations on the Heritage! Beautiful bike! My first (and current) bike is an 07 Heritage. I too was concerned about the weight, but it is well balanced and rides beautifully!
Should you purchase a helmet, make sure you do the research to find a helmet that'll be comfortable during long rides. I went cheap on my first helmet and shortly regretted it as it felt right at first but on a long ride, I was getting a nagging hot spot on my forehead.
Enjoy the ride!
Nice bike! Don't overthink the weight thing, just ride it
Also, some unsolicited advice: unlike the PO don't start the bike until spring; once it has been put away for the winter, put it on a tender and let it hibernate...

Thanks, one of the nicest things I've ever had, right up there with a cab tractor, lol. I'm adjusting to the weight, short rides, stop and start, pushing it around the yard, walking it etc. It's just been so long since I've ridden anything I'm pretty nervous. First couple of outings were pretty much white knuckle. I doubt I totally put it away for the winter, here in the Ozarks we generally have a few nice days throughout, so I'll be out there if it;s nice. Too old for the cold rides.
