Default Exhaust question

Quick question:

Im running V&H "Big Radius" pipes and I am thinking about powder coating my heat shields. By doing that, will it affect the performance in any way (heat retention)?? Please advise.

Thanks

Just a thought. Look at the NEW V&H offerings. Black ceramic coatings. I doubt they made any adjustments for that new finish.

I don't think you'll have any problem. But ya know what, give a call to V&H; I bet they help you with an answer.

P.S. THAT WILL LOOK KILLER ON YOR RIDE!!!!!!!

I'm not sure what temp heat shields get to but pwdr coat only good to 500F or so, maybe up to 800F. I would ceramic coat it. If they coat pipes w/black ceramic coat I don't see how coating heat shield is different. On RB site you can get a chrome pipe and ceramic coat/black the heat shields. I would do it to that bike if it was mine, nice motorbike by the way.

Poorboy is right, V&H already got em for your 07. If their heat shields are black, go do it.

I would avoid powder coating only because of the heat issue, ceramic is better, lasts longer, and tougher anyway.

Thank you gents. Appreciate all the feedback. Ceramic coating seems to be the ticket.
