What a change from the 2004. Bike had great performance, smooth trany, and a comfortable seat. The only problem was the suspension was lowered and my knees were up past my rib cage. Little unsteady when stopped. The new engine makes the bike a pleasure to ride and we got a chance to try the abs when some fool crossed twotraffic lanes from a stop sign in front of us. All that to enter a gasoline station ( what a jerk !!, no wonder crashes are up in numbers) Fifty plus degrees and rain eliminated any heating problems.
Toured the plant in Tomahawk where one employee stated they get a twenty percent discount on new bikes. ( must be nice ! ) Had a great time and saw thousands of bikes. I was surprised they let us ride in the rain which they normally do not. This cut the waiting line time drastically. State patrol also had eight bikes on display. The new red really looks sharp. I guess color could be a reason to update.
I'm enjoying mine! I'd like to feel how the 08 Ultra responds when lowered, however(I don't have the longest stride!). No complaints, except for not enuf ridin' time!!
It did have ABS. When you hit the front brake hard ( which is what I did when the other bike crossed in front of us ) It felt solid and the suspension seemed to come down, settle, and I could feel a little pulsation in the brake lever. Very nice on a wet road. It would be the first option on the list.
