Welcome to the forum 06deucerider. Your best bet ius the service manual. If you dont have one get it along with the parts manual. The explosion charts will go a long way in visualizing the assembly. Good luck.

Get yourself a Service Manual, they are pricey (about $60) but it will pay for itself in screw-up savings alone. It will tell you exactly how to do virtually anything you can imagine (and not a few you can't) on the bike the right way the first time.
The Parts Manual is another worthwhile investment.

It is very easy to do but i too recomend a service manual.

It goes a long way on modifications and doing the recommendedservice'syourself.

I'm with the group on the "get a service manual" advise...money well spent and it makes for good reading...I swapped out my stock levers for aftermarket slotted chrome levers and there were installation directions that came with the new levers...the swap out was fall-off-a-log easy...it took me about 10-15 minutes to swap out both sides (clutch and brake).

Service manual is a plus for piece of mind. I put chrome levels on and it is pretty easy even following the instructions that came with them. Since you have to loosen the clutch adjuster to pop the cable out of the old lever, it's a good idea to mark the original position with a sharpie marker on the threadsto make sure you tighten it back to the original position.

Buy a split wring wrench before you start it will save you a huge headache and time trying to put the lever clip on with out one. They only cost a few bucks too.

#1 SERVICE MANUL...#2 rear brake light switch is located behind front brake lever. YOU MUST SHIM THE LEVER BEFORE INSTALLING NEW LEVER.......If you don't you'll brake the switch! depress the lever and stuff something to hold it closed alittle bit then install. refer to manual........
