My dad on his 07 Deluxe and myself on my 05 Deluxe are leaving in about 15 minutes for a 9 day trip from LA (Lower Alabama) to the Dragon, the Blueridge Parkway and Skyline, over to Dayton Ohio, back South through Louisville and finishing up at the departure point. 2443 miles give or take a few on wherever and whatever we feel like stopping to do.
A father and son ride that is long past due. Time to recharge the batteries of life. If you see a couple of bikes packed to the gills with the riders grinning from ear to ear, be sure to give us a wave.
My son and I ride every chance we get. As the "old guy", I treasure every mile! We've done several 3 or 4 hundred mile runs, but I look forward to a long trip like you and your dad are doing. Ride safe and may God keep you in the palm of his hand. Enjoy every second cuz you're making memories for a lifetime!
Killer ride. My brother and I did a 3000 mile run the week before you guys and hit the dragon and the midwest. Would love to get my dad back on a bike. almost had him get one this tear but he backed off. Who knows maybe next year
That's so cool! I'd love to go on a ride with my dad. Since my bike is only 50 miles into the brake in period his lil Honda Shadow ACE should be able to keep up just fine . I haven't had a chance to ride with him at all yet since I got it but hopefully we'll get to do a short day trip this weekend.
That's awesome that yall got to do that. I recently returned from back to back year long deployments to the middle east. One of the many lessons I learned over there is to cherish every single moment you get with loved ones, who knows if that may be the last time. My dad has been my mentor, hero, and best friend for as long as I can remember and the reason I got into motorcycling. I'm really looking forward to spending some time with him. Hopefully before too long we'll get to go on a trip like that. I'm jealous!
