Default saddlebags

Has anyone put saddlebags on their Softail Deluxe? I want to put the rigid bags for the Softail Deluxe (p/n 53015-05) on my FLSTN. The parts catalog says will not fit with the swingarm axle covers I have (p/n 48112-00). The bottom of the bags look like they hang well above the axle so I don't think it's a space issue. I read on this or another HD forum site that Vance & Hines claims no saddle bags will work with their pipes on the Softail Deluxe. I've got the V&H Big Shots staggered on my bike. Two questions. Is anyone familiar with how the bags mount? Is there a bracket or something that mounts on or near where the axle covers are. Also anyone familiar with the V&H pipes and saddle bags. My pipes are well below where the stock shotgun pipes run so I can't see how the V&H could interfere with bags. I guess that was actually three questions. Sorry for the long post

Since you're asking three pretty specific questions, you'll probaly not get any exact answers. Most folks when told sumpin' won't fit, just drop it.

My theory is, "I can make anything fit." If you like that bag style, get 'em. Figure out where and why they won't fit, and modify something to make it work.

Im replacing my stock pipes with a Hackerlabs1 2 into 1 exuast. Reason is to have more clearance for my leather saddle bags and to stop the lil lady from frying her boot on top pipe.

Check out easy brackets. They may work in your application?????

If you have the time and determination you can make anything work,If you like the bags go for it.
