Default Hooker Headers???

Doc and I are trying to find more information on "HOOKER HEADERS EXHAUST TUNED FLOW PIPES HARLEY SOFTAIL". Anyone have anything to say about these? Good, bad, so so.... any info at all would be helpful.

Well, I've had the double walled Hooker Step Tuned Headers on my WideGlide for the past 3 years, and I don't have anything bad to say about them.

Look good, sound great, and since they are 'double walled' you don't need to worry about them turning gold or blue. You can installed metal baffles in them if you want to "tame the tone" a bit, but I've been running mine wide open.

Right now I'm running the old style (without crossover pipe) 80354-00 Screamin' Eagle 2 mufflers on my FatBoy, but if I ever decide to go with a full system it will probably be the Hooker Step Tuned double wall pipes.

Below is a picture of the Hooker pipes on my WideGlide, and a 'stock picture' of the pipes that are made for the Softail;

I have the hooker header troublemakers. I love them. They sound great. They provided a good horsepower increase when used with the high flow kit that harley makes. And they look good. Like the guy before me said you dont have to worry about blueing or any problems like that. It does seam like their chrome is a little thin such as if you clean your pipes with an abbrasive to remove burnt on shoe or tar or anything like that be careful because you can rub through the chrome and you will get a goldish chrome color where you rubbed to hard. I konw from experience. but the as for the sound and performance i dont think there is a better two into two pipe out there.

I have the Hooker slip on's on my Ultra. I like the sound and the look. Funny thing, in all the threads about exhaust around here, very seldom anything about Hooker. From what I read on the internet about them, they rank up with most systems for price and performance.

I've got the troublemakers, gold spot on the top pipe, other than that I'm happy as hell with em. I'll second the chrome isn't that good, but as far as performance and sound it dosn't get any better

I have the Fourbiddens. The only beef I have with them is the black "ceramic" coating....they should be more honest to customers and tell them it's black oxide coated....
I had the Yaffe X pipes which were black ceramic coated, and they were smooth and didn't feel rough like the Hookers. Other than that these things gave me back my low end torque I was missing, and sound awesome!

I have a set of the Hooker Rebel Longs on my 05 Deluxe. Very nice exhaust system. I have no complaints at all on the looks or sound. I just don't see alot of bikes around with these pipes and can't figure that out...

I found an old audio/video I made of the WideGlide with the Hooker Step Tuned Headers installed.

It was made with an old Sony digital camera, with a small built in mic, so you won't get an appreciation of the actual 'tonal output' of the pipes, but it will give you an idea of how they sound.
