Default Beach Bars

New to the board and Harley ownership. There's a lot of posts about beach bars on the Deluxebut was wondering if anyone can help me with some details. I'd like to put on narrow beach bars like HD or Burly Bikini on an 08 Deluxe. Not ready to go with braided cables or anything. Will the stockblack cables fit?

I saw beach bars on a deluxe with the stock risers. I like the height but not thelook of the stock riser with the bars. What would you guys recommend?

Thanks

Hey chromedome, the stock cables will fit the 36 inch bikini beach barsexcept the front brake line, I went +4 on mine. As far as the risers you should use the risers off a fat boy or any comprable 1 inch riser for the proper look. I would also consider running the wires internally in the bars for a cleaner look, it involves raising the tank to get tothe plug and you will have to remove the wires from the plug-- its a lot easier than it sounds as long as you put the wires inback in their correct position.I would also reccomend getting the softail shop manual from the dealership its worth ts weight in gold.

I am having the narrow Beach bars installed on my 05 Fatboy this weekend. The full width Beach Bars are just too wide for my taste. The HD narrow's go with a hundred dollar 2" riser (also HD) but it is heavy, well made and attractive. If you can go with stock cables its the obvious choice. The internal wiring makes for a really nice job. I am changing out Road Glide bars now on the bike that are too massive, high and pulled back and so I have to replace the lines anyway. I will probably go with braided stainless because I've never had them and want to try the look. Good luck with your project.

What do the narrow and the wide beach bars measure? Mine measures approximately 34 1/2".
Is mine considered the narrow beach bar?

HD beach bars #56855-05 are 35.75 ". Don't know what the narrow measures. There part number doesn't show up in their handlebar comparison chart. The Burly Bikinis are 36". I like the looks of the burly.

Thanks guys . Hey ss62vert or anyone, what is the stock length of the upper brake line on the Deluxe so I now what a +4 length would measure at? A few things changed from 07 to 08 but hope this wasn't one of them.

The Narrow Beach Bars are 33.5" wide and note to concepi; I have a very good mechanic doing the switch for $200-$250 (estimate)with me buying the new parts.

Ed45, tks - you don't happen to live in northern california for me to borrow your mechanic?... local stealer estimated 3.5-4.5 hours at usd 95 each for install (usd 330-430 plus tax) - half a grand is easily spent at the stealer and that;s just the install...
