That mod you did is one of the single sweetest looking mods yet. Very nice.

hey Dan, try www.hdwheels.com, they are in Woodland Hills, CA - 20 min from Hollywood. they charge $80 for the ss spokes, and another $80 for truing and lacing, very good job. the guy Andrei is nice too, I highly recommend him. I think he can hook you up with the rim too, I got mine from ebay though.

road crap is not that bad, Los Angeles roads are really dry but I got little slpashed going through poddles in the neighborhood. I ever got small stones hit my goggles but again it also happened when i was using stockie and fender.

for fender: there is not direct fit for this 17/140 combo. Deuce lower fork uses 6.25 wide front fender. From my calculation, i can use 16/18" fender, but they are designed for 130 tire (common front tire size are 16/130 or 18/130). deuce front fork construction has the fender bolt mounting from inside and now with 140 tire, theres only about 1/8" gap between the tire and fender mounting. I dont have the budget for now to buy a fender and test fit it, but i might gonna do it in the future. FXST lower fork is easier to work on, its 6.5" width and the monting bolts are on the side.

I chose for 17" since I want to keep same size wheels front and rear, but if I had to do it again, I'd go with 18". the only downsize is 130 is the widest, but theres fender options for that size that will fit, and if you ever do wider custom rear wheels, they are all in 18" sizes. Good luck!

Talk about perfect timing , thinking about doing this on my Deuce . Your bike looks fantastic!!!I've been thinking about swapping out my chrome spokes for a set of twisted SS ones and with a new front tire being needed fairly soon , this would be a great idea . Cost would not be much more than my planned mod / tire , just the price of a rim and a little more for a bigger tire .

How much road crap gets thrown up at you ? I don't ride in the wet stuff intentionally so no fender and water is no real issue ! Any idea if someone makes a fender to fit that combo you have ?

Anyone know of a Wheel Shop in Ca that could do this work ( lacing ) , the HD dealers in my areawon't touch it , someting about real expertese needed in lacing a rim , liability issues .

Is that a Danny Gray seat? How do you like the ride? I've been thinking about one for my NT.

Thanks Andy , was wondering about the 18" tire also , think I'll price the 17 vs. 18 and make my decision . The 17" may be an odd size therefore the tire manufacturers get a lot more for them , hopefully not ! Like the looks of yours so well I may not even cosider a fender !

yep, Danny Gray Buttcrack Solo. about as hard as stock, seat position is lowered about 1 inch and moved a bit towrds rear also. I love the way it sits me "in" the bike but with my drag bar and me being 5'7, its not recommended for the long haul , for sure!

Love the bike Andy
Here's a model they sell exclusively here at Harley-Davidson Montreal. They call it "the Low-Boy".

That bike looks sweeeet, very nice job!!

I think that I like it better with the fat front tire than with the stock 21" front tire.
