Having been riding various Dyna's and Softails I have pretty much narrowed down my choice of bikes down to Softal Night Train and Dyna Street Bob.
While (IMHO) the Night Train does not handle as good as the Street Bob, for me in wins on look and the "custom" appeal alone.
Would any of you guys who currently ride the Night Train have any positive or negative comments to make about the bike?
Would you buy this bike again?
Did any of you considered any of the Dyna's prior to settling for Softail Night Train?
Why did you end up choosing the Night Train?
I bought a 07 Nighttrain about 2 months ago, and I love it . Its a little tight for me compared to my Roadking Custom, but I love it anyway. I agree that it woops **** in the looks dept. totally. I got mine with the wideglide front end and med 'old style'apes, and it looks great. Only problem is that I am 6-2, 340 lbs, and my lower back hurts after a little while when riding. Might have to sell it if this dont change. To make it more rider friendly for me means loosing alot of the looks. Anyway, I hope this was a little helpfull. BigJohn....
Came off of a '99 Dyna Wideglide.... The Night Train handles MUCH better than the dyna...even with the drag bars. I just bought a LePera barebones solo gel seat because Ido runs of700+ miles on occasion and the badlander seat is a little rough on the butt for such long runs.
I'd buy the same bike tomorrow if I had to replace it for some reason....
I have an 06 and love it.It didnt handle that well out of the box, but after the tires wore out I switched to Metzelers, added a lowering kit and adjusted the preload on the shocks. It now handles great. I can lay it over and scrape the pegs or pipes depending on which side I turn.
Another happy Night Train owner here. Just turned over 2000 miles today. I've riden both bikes and prefer the NT. I'm sure that there are mods that you could do to improve handling, but I'm not looking to turn mine into a road racer!! No complaints on the seat. I've got a little extra junk in the trunk to handle the hard seat.
Iowned a Sportster, test rode a Street Bob and bought a Night train. My opinion and it is just my Opinion, the StreetBob felt like a bigger Sportster. I'm very happy with the Nightrain.
