Default Tach wiring problem.

Ok, here's the situation. Installing a mini tach on an 08 Heritage Softail. Four wires coming from the tach, red, blue, black, and green. The ground is hooked up and the light works. Blue is the light wire. Here's what i'm getting....On the coil there's two yellow wires with green tracers, a grey with blue tracer, and a blue with orange tracer. A posting that I read somewhere said that the blue is the pickup for the tach but i get nothing from it. If I hook the green from the tach to the grey/blue wire it looks like it's registering normal at idle. Anything above idle the tach goes backwards to zero. Am I missing something? I also have been told the the pulse should come from one of the wires going to the ECM but there's no way for me to know which and if that's even true. Does anyone have any knowledge of the new bikes and which is the correct way to wire this tach? Thanks a bunch, this thing is driving me nuts.

Thanks for the responce. After calls to 3 different dealers and no help I gave up on them. I did keep looking on this forum though and found a guy who did a really good job at documenting an install on a Dyna. I found my answer there. Luckily the wiring was the same as my Heritage.
