Springer seat rail on a Heritage

Springer seat rail on a Heritage
Hi all,
Just picked up a Heritage springer seat rail and want to put it on my Heritage softail classic.Obviously it is not going to fit without some mods.
Anyone out there put one on and how did you mount it.There is a v-rail at the back of the rail with a vertical piece so not sure where thats got to go (or do you cut that bit off).Also is it mounted on the sides into the fender or the fender struts.If in the struts did you drill an extra hole.
Any help or pics would be greatly appreciated.

So All That Has The 2000/2004 Softail Heritage Classic And Are Looking For The V-Rail To Fit Your Studded Solo Seat
Here Is What I Found,, And I Did Not Get The Info From H-D They Know Nothing, I Will Put In Pictures Of A V-Rail On My 03 Heritage Solo Studded Seat, It Won't Fit With The Passenger Seat pillow On ,, You Must Take It Off, Put On A Rear Fender Bib, So The Bracket Can Rest On It, And Bolt It To Your Rear/Rear Upper Fender Strut Bolts One On Each Side Then Put The Seat On And Your Done Real Easy
.
I Got It From A V-Twin Dealer On Page 425 IT DEFINITELY FITS 2000/2004 Maybe Newer ones Also
Chrome FLST Seat Rail is chrome plated. Fits 1987-99 stock
seat as listed. Requires removal of stock passenger seat.
