Willie G. came up with the Deuce on a dry erase board while taking a huge deuce after a night of heavy beer drinking. He decided to call the bike the Deuce in commemoration of the deuce that gave rise to beautiful softail. Additionally, he thought that "Deuce" sounded much better than "beer *****". The marketing people agreed and the Deuce was born.

The Deuce lives. It got a wider rear tire, a new rear fender setup, a funny seat and it will be called the Rocker. Just look at the tank, bars, etc. on a Rocker.

Geez, am I the only one rotfl after reading this?
I thought that was funny as hell too. I agree with the re-incarnation of the deuce as a Rocker too.
Now, after thinking about it a little, on top of the year designation, the twin cam thing plays in there as well. Just too many 2s not to call it a deuce. I agree with the Rocker scenario too. I am glad they kept the stretched tank. Whenever I ride with my buddy that has a SE Springer, he always brings up the tank. I will probably keep the Deuce around a while. It has become my friend. Ken

I love mine too and don't ever plan to get rid of it.
BTW, did the Deuce ever have an EVO, like in 1999? I'm not at all sure when it came out... ??
I don't think so- I'm pretty sure the Deuce came out in 2000. No Evo version that I am aware of. I was in college at the time and I remember seeing ads in magazines for the Deuce and thinking "that's it, that's the one."
