It has a S & S carb on it. It is taking at least 5 to 10 min to warm up with adjustment of the choke and still backfires. I am clueless on mechanical issues and my husband isn't much better, he just gets on his Ultra Classic and starts it without any problems. I appreciate all the info, we have a local bike shop here (Howlin cycles) and I guess I will have to have those guys take a look. Its just hard to take it in when I just now started riding out of the parking lots and onto the open rode. It is so addicting! Thanks again!!
Wonder what size carb you have? Too big of a bore would do that... ??
2nd vote for a CV. "Everyone" knows how to tweak them - dirt cheap good used because so many people just "need" a mikuni or whatever. If you just want reliability and very decent performance, get one from the mid - late 90's maybe.
Another vote to check for intake leak. They are known for that. Just takes a new gasket.
