2002 DXLR Cold Starting
Whenever the bike gets cold from sitting (garage, parking lot, etc.), it takes a bit to start. The starter turns over, but when it does catch, it sputters and then if I'm not giving it a little throttle, it wants to stall. Slightly pulling the choke out remedies the issue, and once warmed up, choke goes back in, I start down the road, everything is great and idle is around 1K RPM from that point on with no issue. If I turn off the bike, and start right back up, no issues there either and don't need to reapply the choke.
Is this indigenous of all carburetors when they get cold from sitting, or should I have it looked at? The dealership did its full inspection before sending the bike out, but I take those kind of things with a grain of salt. By the way, when I say cold, I'm not referring to outside temp.
Thanks in advance for any info!

The "choke" is also know as the enrichener. It is designed to be used when the engine is below normal operating temperature to "enrichen" the air/fuel mixture and there by aiding combustion. All carburetors have enricheners. Fuel injection systems use temperature sensors and pre-determined programed enrichment tables to do the same thing.
One question: Did the dealer check you out on the bike at all when they delivered it to you?
