Great for you. We all know that feeling that you described very well. I've rode fast KZ's for years, but there is nothing in the world like having a 700lbs Harley under you. Welcome to the Club.
Sounds like you had a great day. Remember to try and visit those empty parking lots and put in some practice, between regular rides.

Ditto . . . Try doing a a couple of u-turns and circles in both direction in front of your house if possible and safe everytime you pull out of your driveway. Remember slow control is as important as control at speed and practice a panic stop as much as possible.
Welcome and congrats!
Practice, practice, ride, ride, NEVER stop learning how to ride.
If you're unsure,,then DON'T !!
I always back off the throttle some when I approach an intersection even if the light is green. I look both ways, between 10 and 2...then proceed when safe. 75% of motorcycles crashes happen in intersections.
Watch out for that cage wanting to turn left in front of you!!
Being on your Harley is one of lifes great pleasures, in MHO.
Took my lessons 2 weeks ago and bought my 2002 FatBoy Wednesday night. Thought I would have to take it to the parking lot today and practice, but it was a beautiful day and I told my husband that we needed to just go slow on some backroads and ride. So............we took off and road 40+ miles. It is 60+ degrees in MO today and it was a wonderful ride. I'm glad that I have progressed beyond the parking lot and am looking forward to some back roads riding again tomorrow. It is hard to explain the feeling of accomplishment after being able to do something that I never dreamed I would like doing, but I loved riding my FatBoy today.
