Took my lessons 2 weeks ago and bought my 2002 FatBoy Wednesday night. Thought I would have to take it to the parking lot today and practice, but it was a beautiful day and I told my husband that we needed to just go slow on some backroads and ride. So............we took off and road 40+ miles. It is 60+ degrees in MO today and it was a wonderful ride. I'm glad that I have progressed beyond the parking lot and am looking forward to some back roads riding again tomorrow. It is hard to explain the feeling of accomplishment after being able to do something that I never dreamed I would like doing, but I loved riding my FatBoy today.
Good for you!!!!! That awsome feeling you had today will last forever if you let it. My ride today was just as neat as any of my rides twenty years ago.
Slowly let yourself build some confidence, stick to any of the roads less traveled, and never put yourself on a deadline to be somewhere.
Welcome tothis WONDERFUL forum where there are so many folks to lend support and alwayswilling to offer suggestions and advice. Get some pictures of your ride and read-up about posting some.
Congrats 2FatBoys. Take your time and build up your experience level. You can be the best rider in the world, but you still have to take into account the arseholes driving anything on four or more wheels. Ride safe and ride often. BTW, excellent choice on your new ride.

Ditto. Congratulations. My wife took the classes this fall and is now riding a Wide Glide. She's doing great and loves it.
