Freaked me out the first time. Irode sport bikes when I was younger and when I dragged something on a YZF, THAT was scary! Now, it irritates me because I want to get low in curves and I feel likeevery nice easy routine curve drags my boards. I'm planning to switch to foward controls this winter so maybe that will help some but my dad (who rides) keeps telling me I need to just ride it like it's a cruiser and not a sport bike.
One experience I definitely don't want any parts of. I figure if the floorboards were meant to be in contact with the pavement they'd put wheels under them.

scape occassionally ... but I'm wishing i had a little bit more confidence in the bike's ability as the boards scraping are generally compromising my confidence in leaning.
I know the feeling. I got a Springer Classic after riding a 1200C for a year. I could really lean that 1200C into the turns, but when I took some of those same turns on the Springer I started scraping floorboards. I did a road trip on the Springer in Arkansas a month ago and while I still did OK in the turns, there was a part of me that was holding back since I didn't want to lean too far over on unfamiliar roads. It was probably for the best anyway.
first time got my attention...second time I knew my leaning limits...now I lean hard...the senses pick up on the limitation...look at 'em as "curb feelers..." [sm=biker2.gif]
