Default Dented Fork

Anyone know of an easy way to fix this? I tried to take apart the housing around the headlight to get to it but what I thought was some sort of cover apears to be a permanent part of the front forks...

Bogey Man, here's how you do that picture imbed:

At the start and end of your picture code change the letter "IMG" with "image"

replace the [IMG] with [IMG]
and at the endreplace [/IMG]with [/IMG]

Bogeyman - That part is called many different names like fork can, cowbell or upper fork cover. It is bolted to the lower triple tree by two bolts, but you have to remove the fork tube to get it off. That means removing the tire, fender andbrake caliper. Then remove the tin piece that spands between the 2 triple trees closest to the gas tank on that side. Once those are out of the way remove the pinch bolts on both triple trees that hold the fork tube and slide the fork tube out. You may have spread the triple tree pinch area slightly to get the fork tube out. Now you can get to the two bolts that hold the fork can. Reverse for reassembly being careful to correctly torque all bolts and axle nut, and use blue locktight on everything.

Just so there's no confusion, you will be able to get to the two bolts that hold the fork can without removing the fork tube but the fork can won't slide over the lower fork leg.

If I can get to the bolts and slide it down, I wonder if there is enough clearance from the top to get into it and push the dent out with something??
Seems like a ton of grief just to pull out that little dent or replace the can....

You can try it, but I doubt you'll have enough room. Besides, if you pry against the fork tube to push out the dent and damge the tube it'll cost ya A LOT more money and grief than just removong the tube to start with.

Good luck!
